Edenmore Drug Intervention Team (EDIT) is a thriving community drug
team that provides support for people who are experiencing problems
because of their drug and alcohol use.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced person who is
committed and passionate about making a positive difference in the
lives of others. We are looking for someone with significant one to
one and group work experience to offer services both on site and in
other settings and locations to reduce the barriers to accessing
treatment.
As the Substance Use Practitioner, you will be proactive in working
with other statutory, voluntary and community services to provide a
wide range of supports to people who may not already be engaged in
existing services.
ESSENTIAL:
Candidates will have the following:
* Minimum of a level 7 diploma in Community Drugs Work, Community
Addiction Studies, Social Sciences, Community Development, or related
field.
* Minimum of 2 years paid experience in a substance use setting.
* Experience in one-to-one evidence-based interventions
(motivational interviewing, CRA, CBT), care planning and case
management.
* Significant experience of the design, delivery, and evaluation of
psychosocial and therapeutic groups.
* Have a thorough knowledge of drug related issues and their effect
on individuals, families, and communities.
* Significant experience of inter-agency/collaborative working.
* Can demonstrate strong analytical and research skills in relation
to review and evaluation.
* Can clearly demonstrate organisational skills including time
management, communication, goal setting and so on.
* Effective written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills,
including IT skills.
* The post holder must have administration capacity to discharge the
functions of the post.
* The post holder must be personally motivated and be able to work
on their own initiative
* The post holder must have a full, clean drivers? licence and
access to a vehicle.
* Flexibility in terms of working hours ? the post holder will be
required to provide regular evening supports.

SALARY will be commensurate with experience
This is a full time 3-year fixed term contract subject to funding and
completion of a probationary period.
